CRTC visits CRC

On May 5, 2021 the Commissioners of the CRTC, along with Chair Françoise Bertrand and several staff visited the Communication Research Centre to learn more about Digital and High Definition Television.

Metin Akgun, V.P. Broadcast technologies Research, and research staff Bernard Caron, Gerald Chouinard, Andre Vincent and Yiyan Wu hosted them. Along with Michael McEwen, they made a series of presentations describing the digital television technology and how it will affect the world of television broadcasting, transforming it into a free-access wide-band digital network into the home.

The presentations were followed by demonstrations of the outstanding quality of High Definition Television, and a discussion of reception issues being studied by the CRC.
